Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Care for your DANBRI Canvas products:

How do I clean my awning? Water. Nothing more nothing less. Canvas is a funny product, if you use detergents then you will remove the waterproofing properties very quickly and lessen the colour of the product (age it prematurely). Just a light brush with water and clean the area.

How do I ensure my Canvas products survive the test of time?

The real key to a long life with your new mate canvas is to always ensure it's stored in a dry place and most importantly never put canvas away (folded up etc) wet. You'll soon be introduced to your mate Canvas's age old enemy - Mould! (within 24-48 hours in the right temperatures, remember it's a fungus that grows)

2. Canvas Types

Why is there a quality difference depending where Canvas is made?

Quality control more than anything. Different manufacturing techniques is another. Fact is, Australian made canvas is far superior in quality than the Chinese made equivalent. You also get what you pay for, it's the simple difference between a pair of RM Williams boots and a pair of K-mart boots.

How do I tell the difference?

There are many major branded manufacturers using imported canvas in their products. This makes for great priced gear but their canvas is of very different quality. Next time you are in a shop with canvas products feel the canvas with your fingers, even though it will say 14oz you will be able to feel bumps on your skin through it. With Aust made canvas you'd be very lucky to feel your nose through it.

What's the deal with 10oz, 12oz etc?

'Ounce' or the abbreviated 'Oz' is the measurement of the thickness of the material basically. This term, although imperial is still commonly used. With a tent for example 8-11oz is great for roofing and 12-15oz for walls. Canvas can get quite heavy but is an incredibly strong long lasting material. Anything above 15oz is just about cardboard and is rarely used. Although people might tell you things will fit, canvas doesn't stretch!

3. Shipping?

We have sent DANBRI Canvas products world wide. For international prices please contact us.
For all Australian postage, usually the cheapest option is the 3kg Express Post satchels at $10.50. For Awnings it's usually between $25-$35 except some NT/WA suburbs are a little higher. We use www.smartsend.com.au courier service and they have been brilliant with both cost and delivery times.

4. What sort of repair work does DANBRI Canvas do?

If you can take the piece off and give it to us then YES we take on these jobs. But if you want to leave a camper trailer with us for two weeks to repair then NO, we don't take on these kinds of jobs. However, we know the industry and can point you in the right direction to have this done. Our preferred work is custom gear made to your specifications. We have 14 years industrial engineering experience so chances are we can decipher your wildest drawings!
Obviously we will repair any of our products without question should there be any fault in our workmanship.

5. What sort of time frame can I expect if I order something custom?

The general rule of thumb is 2-3 days. We believe the ultimate key to ensure you are happy with the time frame is to keep in communication. So if we suffer a setback, burn the workshop down or fall off our perch - we'll let you know about it!
